A thousand years ago, in an age of peace, a legendary man shook the land of Japan.
His name was Musashibō Benkei.
Once a warrior monk serving under Hōnen of Mount Hiei, Benkei began to feel a void—an emptiness born from the burden of his own overwhelming strength. As time passed, he questioned the meaning behind it all.
One day, Hōnen descended the sacred mountain, leading his armed priests—with Benkei among them.
It was then that Benkei witnessed something that would change him forever...
Why was he born? How should he live?
Only the heavens hold the answers.
This is the untold saga of a man whose burning spirit left a lasting mark on the soul of Japan.
